Mmmmmmmmovie Review
Dec. 26th, 2004 08:56 pmBut first things first:
Happy Early Birthday,
siriusstar!!
Tonight Mitch, Hannah,
carlythemeek, and I went to see A Series of Unfortunate Events. I can tell you (and I'm sure I have in the past) that I'm not much of a Lemony Snicket fan: I found the books dull and predictable.
I loved this movie.
End of story. The casting (all around) was fabulous, the cinematography was reminiscent enough of Tim Burton to make me very happy, and -- surprise of all surprises -- they got all the relevant and important pieces of the first three books without sacrificing anything.
[here is my polite round of applause for a movie well made, and bravo to Jim Carrey.]
Now. I owe a lot of beta reading to a lot of people. This is making me fret. I will get it done, I promise, especially if any of you are reading this journal. If I don't beta-read for you, please don't ask me to read anything until I'm done with this round. Thanks.
