The Holmstroms

Those pesky little buggers are going to eat me out of house and home! I looked out this evening and there were the four of them, four little bundles of striped grey-ness, curled up on my deck. And one was on its back stretched out, just like a puppy.
Everybody all together: awwww! I didn't know raccoons did that!
In other news, I have a cold and an ear infection, dran it. Figures. But... Hannah's doing really well in school this year. They're making a virtual city and she just got elected mayor, and has to run meetings according to Roberts Rules of Order. Go Hannah!
A woman called me today and said she had a cat that matched Jack's description. It wasn't him, but they were very very close in looks... the cat in question had been at her house off and on for a couple months and never wore a collar, and Jack's only been gone since the 29th of August and he's super-friendly. I knew it wasn't him, but I had to go look anyhow. And the woman who called was so very sweet and considerate, too. She calls the cat 'Friend.'
I like to think Jack a) wouldn't have got quite that far and b) if he had, would have remembered me. But even though I knew it wasn't him, I had to try.
