Was a sunny day.
Jul. 11th, 2004 06:29 pmToday had to be about the most perfect day, weather-wise, we've had in ages. It was in the 70s most of the day with a perfectly blue sky, a nice gentle breeze. Not a day to stay inside and tie one's self to the computer, no way! Hannah and I went to the zoo. They have a new exhibit -- Trillium Family Farm. It's mostly for the littler kids with lots of petting opportunities, but since this was the grand opening weekend, they had special activities.
Hannah had her face painted like a white Siberian tiger. She looked awesome! I took pictures when we got home.
They have a motion simulator ride there and last time we went on it, Hannah said she was bored. To. Tears. This time they had a new ride called 'Himalamazon' or something like that, where you get to be a log taking a trip down an imaginary river in the Himalayas. It was really fun. So fun, in fact, that we went on it twice. It was a fairly wild ride so now I have no compunctions about taking her on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror next time we're in Disneyland. Hannah is such a great kid! So patient and interested and interesting, and so smart!
Seeing as how a trip to the Oregon Zoo always means a stop for animal fries... we ate well.
And... it was so nice to have a day away from online responsibilities. And then to come back and find out one of my stories is featured for discussion on Unredeemed this week: that was kewl.
