A Starbucks Moment

Well, what do you know! I stopped at Starbucks today (one of three in my town of 12,000, but I'm told soon to be one of five) to get my daily dose of black tea lemonade, no valencia. I was wearing my Jason Carter for Sirius Black t-shirt and the girl behind the counter said: 'Nice t-shirt, I like it!' I asked if she was a Jason Carter fan and she said 'No, but I'm a Harry Potter fan... I don't think they could have done a better job casting than him! I loved him in the movie.'

Now, unless I've been under a misguided rock, Gary Oldman was Sirius in the movie. So I asked her if she liked the way Gary Oldman did the job, and she was highly confused. 'Well, yeah, he was perfect!' she says, looking at my shirt. I told her that I believed Jason Carter would have done a better job but I was glad she liked Gary Oldman's portrayal.

I think I confused her whole day after that.

And I know Jason Carter would have done a better job. They got the wrong dog.
