[Weary Smile]
Jun. 21st, 2004 10:27 pmIt's been a day.
I spent most of the day with my mother-in-law at the dermatologist's office where she had a squamous-cell carcinoma removed. I'm so glad I was there with her; if I hadn't been, she'd have gone back home and would be facing the nightmare of anticipating day surgery at a later date. The doctor was cool. He looked like a mad scientist and let me stay with her for everything but the actual surgery. It all went well and they got rid of all the growth the first time around, so they stitched her up and she was done, and she gets checked in six months or whenever.
Afterward, I took her out to lunch and got her prescription for pain killers filled, and we even talked about workable options for taking care of my father-in-law.
Stopped at the plant nursery on the way home and got some fresh flowers to replace the ones trampled by the critters. Planted those; go me. They're nice. I have no idea what they are but I like them. I almost got some Helichrysum and I still might. I like straw flowers; I've had them before.
Now it's 10:25 and
cedricsmistress and
carlythemeek are watching Pinky and the Brain with Hannah. We had a fire in our new chimenea and it smelled great. We ate dinner outside on the deck and the raccoon came by and ate also. Last night she brought by four cubs. I thought of you,
hex316.
I'm tired. I think tonight (for undisclosed reasons) I've earned myself an honorary Ph.D. in counseling.
R.I.P. canon!Sirius. Come back from beyond the veil, please. We miss you.
