(Still cursing Hemingway beneath my breath)

So what if he wrote like James Kirk speaks.

The stray from yesterday has apparently decided that our door is open to her. I think it's a her. That means that tomorrow, if she's still around, I bundle her up and take her to the vet and have her scanned for an AVID chip. This, of course, will be after class is done and after school is done and after I'm done with work.

Repeat after me: I will not fall in love with this cat. I will not fall in love with this cat. I will not fall in love with this cat.

She's someone's pet. She's got a collar but no tags. She's an excellent hunter -- I watched her today. She knows how to use a scratching post. She's not fearful of the indoors.

Hmm. Maybe if there's no chip and no alert out for her, she can become Grandma's pet.

Edited to add: OK, this is crazy. The stray just snuck back in; Jack brought in a squeaking half-dead shell-shocked something, and the phone rang while I was desperately trying to grab a cat nap.

Cat nap, heh.

SUSHI!! [DROOLS!] Yes, 25th. I'm not sure on a time. I get off work around 3:00 and then there's the hour-and-a-half or so drive up to Sherwood and my hair appt is at 6:00. How late are the sushi places open? Hopefully we can pull it off. Obviously a week night night not be the best for you...

Probably open till 9. I don't get home with Hannah till about 5:30, though (she starts drama club that day). Hmm... maybe I can get takeout and we can have it here when you're done.
