(Still cursing Hemingway beneath my breath)

So what if he wrote like James Kirk speaks.

The stray from yesterday has apparently decided that our door is open to her. I think it's a her. That means that tomorrow, if she's still around, I bundle her up and take her to the vet and have her scanned for an AVID chip. This, of course, will be after class is done and after school is done and after I'm done with work.

Repeat after me: I will not fall in love with this cat. I will not fall in love with this cat. I will not fall in love with this cat.

She's someone's pet. She's got a collar but no tags. She's an excellent hunter -- I watched her today. She knows how to use a scratching post. She's not fearful of the indoors.

Hmm. Maybe if there's no chip and no alert out for her, she can become Grandma's pet.

Edited to add: OK, this is crazy. The stray just snuck back in; Jack brought in a squeaking half-dead shell-shocked something, and the phone rang while I was desperately trying to grab a cat nap.

Cat nap, heh.

Repeat after me: Yeah, right.

:D

Especially after I picked her up and she put one paw on either side of my jaw and kissed my chin.

No, I will not fall in love with her. She apparently went home just in time to miss our ice storm this weekend. If I see her again, I'll know she's just a wanderer.

~pets stray~

Indeed, maybe she IS Grandma's pet.

Not this time. I hope she made her way back home; it's been a few days since I saw her. I did hear someone calling for a kitty the night she was here, so hopefully that was her family and hopefully she had a successful reunion with them, because she's not in my garage any more. Just the other cat who's been living there since November.

You were clearly born under the baleful influence of Sucker Saturn.

Aww! More kitties! ^_^

If my apartment allowed pets I would take it off your hands. Hopefully though you will be able to find the owner.

You said the 25th, right? What time? Let's DO it.

SUSHI!! [DROOLS!] Yes, 25th. I'm not sure on a time. I get off work around 3:00 and then there's the hour-and-a-half or so drive up to Sherwood and my hair appt is at 6:00. How late are the sushi places open? Hopefully we can pull it off. Obviously a week night night not be the best for you...

Probably open till 9. I don't get home with Hannah till about 5:30, though (she starts drama club that day). Hmm... maybe I can get takeout and we can have it here when you're done.
