First, apologies to everyone on my flist: I'm not ignoring you. I'm playing catchup as best I can.
For those who don't know, life has got significantly complex for me in the past couple weeks. Between Mitch's constant (or near-constant) traveling, I have left myself but one day each week to have nothing planned, and that's Sunday. I work Tues-Wed-Fri-Sat, and on my two weekdays "off" I volunteer in Hannah's classroom (Mondays) and help out at the massage school (Thursdays). Is it any wonder [queue David Bowie's Fame on that one) I am up till 1 or 2 every morning just to catch up with everything else?
Debates. Yes, I've been watching. I can't say more than some of the rest of you have said, so I'll give it a rest. I don't feel like being political today, but I'll just say that Bush looked like a chimpanzee on too many antidepressants. My daughter, who was born in China, wants to see that measure in the senate pass that won't require you to have been born on American soil to run for president. She wants to. And you know what? She'd be a damn good pres.
Baseball. Red Sox are doing fine, but I haven't had much time or inclination to turn on the TV for them or anyone else (except politics).
Work. Picking up, I have new clients and I've been busy busy busy. Massaged to Yoko Kanno/Seat Belts this morning, that was cool.
Weather. Has sucked.
Teaching. Is going very well, I'm having fun working with Lisa again and I'm reminded that we're a very good balance working together. She's a Leo and I'm a Scorpio and we do well with one another. Someone once compared our teaching duo to a planet and a satellite. I liked that.
Roleplay. It's crack. What can I say. Now I have to write Spike backstory and Sirius frontstory (futurestory?) to keep things moving along. I get irritated with myself when I let plotlines just drop because I'm too busy.
Fanfiction. Yikes! I owe, I owe, to my beta-ee Lorraine. This weekend, I promise. And it's new story submission weekend on the Quill so there will be more. And yes,
themorningstarr, I promise I will finish Ferret Day before Hell freezes over. I have half a chapter left.
Real Life. Grrrr. We're waiting for a call from my mother-in-law, who took my father-in-law to the hospital. I don't want to do a whole lot of inappropriate griping here, but message to Molly: get a freakin' grip. You are 82 years old. Bob is 86 years old. He's immobile. He does not belong at home with you. He needs full-time, round-the-clock nursing care. You are not qualified. You must stop fucking around with his medications on a whim. Stop playing God.
Real Life Part 2. Mitch got home Thursday night; he's off again Monday and back Thursday night. My sister Jen arrives Thursday night. He's going to hang out at the airport and pick her up so I don't have to drive over there. Hallelujah.
Sting/Annie Lennox. They were still awesome.
Note to Kerry Staffers. I would love to volunteer. Don't ask me to do it on Saturdays. I work.

A Message from Jason:
My heartfelt thanks to all the kind people who sent me birthday greetings. That so many people remembered my birthday pleasantly surprised me as my two brothers rarely remember. Mind you I forget theirs too. We don’t mind. We make allowances. However if we didn’t get a card from our mother we would be mortified!
Your sentiments gave me such a lift as I marked up another year I was cheerful all day. This has to be the first birthday I have celebrated without my usual ‘another milestone’ melancholia. I am 44. I spent the day boasting to my friends and family that I was a palindrome. They humored me or at least smiled politely. 11, 22, 33…every eleven years you get to be one. But if you make it to 99 you only have two years to wait before 101. I’m going to aim at that. Well why not? It’s an ambition. 111, 121….I think that may be pushing it but who knows, with all of the preservatives in our food now. Maybe, if scientists crack the whole cryogenic freeze thing, I’ll just take a few decades off and as Douglas Adams suggested ‘clean up on long term investments’.
This 44th year is going to be particularly challenging and exciting for me. Late summer/fall next year I shall be directing my first film. It is a great drama entitled “Walk Away” (working title) and will be shot on location in Michigan. I have always boasted I would be a good director (as actors are often wont to do) but now a gauntlet was thrown down and I picked it up. In Michigan earlier this year I starred in a Horror movie “Dead End Road” directed by a real cool customer Jeff Burton, he will be my director of photography. I will be assembling a great team. More details when I know them.
Once again heartfelt thanks to all who sent me birthday wishes.
and to all you Americans out there, I won’t tell you how I think you should vote I would just ask you to think whom ‘Marcus’ would have voted for.
Pretty clear eh?!

That is all. If anyone's waiting on anything from me, will you drop me a note here and remind me? I'm dreadfully afraid I've forgotten about something important. Diolch yn fawr.
