Yo.

First things first.

Happy birthday, [livejournal.com profile] parke_matru!!!

I don't know if you're still reading LJ or not, but if you are... here's to you! And to a happy, fulfilling, successful, fun year. Because you deserve that.

Hannah had a little party here today! It was so cute. Because they're 12, and because 12 is almost kind of too old to go trick-or-treating, but not too old to dress up in costume, it was a pre-Halloween costume party. She had two friends from her old school and one from her new, and there was much candy and pizza eating, and they all had costumes and they all had a good time. To keep solidarity with Hannah (who dressed as "the stereotypical emo kid"), I wore a costume too but when it was clear that her friends were in costume too, I went and changed. See, I hurt my hip the other day and while I love my 1980s Rocker Chick Halloween costume and the boots with the 4" heels, it wasn't comfortable today. The wig cracks me up, though: it's part Elvira and part Ozzy. I have the biker jacket and the black clothes, so... yeah. I'm glad I don't have to take kids trick-or-treating in the outfit, though.

And most of the parents stayed too, so we had a little adult party in the kitchen/dining room while the kids had the living room. It was nice. We grazed -- after work today I'd gone and gotten a whole bunch of adult-style finger food -- and gabbed and all that good stuff.

And now all the cats are inside and we're watching baseball. But that was my Saturday so far: how about you?

Short form, for me Saturday was no laundry but much dancing and diplomacy. :) And my 2nd Second Life persona's going to have a 'rez-day' only two days after your birthday, so he'll be a hybrid Leo-Scorpio.

Aw, that sounds like a great party!

We had a little party too. My boss is retiring and she had a combination 65th-birthday-and-retirement-party. HtB called it the perfect introvert party - tons of food and a two-hour time limit. :)
