Valentine Wiggin-Skywalker: Milliways Bar

What's in a family, really? People who one cares about, people who are tied to one due to a certain act of random biology? The IF wanted a girl with the abilities of Peter. Poof in a dish, and they got me. Another poof in a dish, and they got Ender. Does that make Peter, Ender, and I family? Perhaps.

I walk into a bar, not as the start of a bad joke, but due to who-knows-what being, and find love. I find the real definition of a family. People who love me, and care about me, and know who I really am. There are people who challenge what I'm doing, people who need something I can provide: love.

Does that make the people in the bar more family than the ones I had through an act of biology? Perhaps. There is a tie to those you were born to, however, which cannot be broken, however battered. Peter Wiggin is my brother, no less than Peter Pettigrew is my brother. There is no person who is more or less family than another. We are a family. We are the family of the multi-verse, blacksheep cousins and all.
