Even Though She Won't See It...

Beyond all the usual birthday wishes (love, luck, happiness, health, wealth, fun, sun), I have to say that you, dear, are like my own personal Dumbledore half the time. I'm so glad to know you, I can't wait to officially meet you, and it's my personal belief that you're one of a handful of Very Wonderful People. Hope your birthday is outstanding, and that every single day brings you what you want.

Man, I don't have a single cat icon. For someone with ALL THESE CATS, you'd think I would.

Nope. Got enough of them in real life.

While we were away partying our thonged asses off in Vegas (just kidding, that was only there to see if you were paying attention), our mama kitty (Klondike) got wounded. I think our cat-sitter said it was on Saturday night (she must have been out partying too, at the KitKatNip Klub) but really, it looks like someone or something bit her in the paw. So. Enough, right? We're already going to have a vet bill up the wazoo because we have to get those kittens their shots and get them wormed and get Klondike spayed, so what's one more injury?

Kind of the last straw. Did you know that outdoor cats have an average life expectancy of two years?

Guess where Klondike and her kittens are tonight? That's right, in our spare bedroom. None of them are litter trained (yet) and all have worms (now) and none have ever, to my knowledge, been house cats before, but as of this afternoon, they are. I need her at the vet's tomorrow being looked at, and have to have them scan her for an AVID chip. I think she's just a baby, not even a year old herself.

So, you ask, how are they inside the house? Hiding under the bed, but peaceful. Klondike is very sweet and loving, and she hobbles out (can't use one foot because of the bite wound) for tons of loving and petting and loud, loud purring. We'll see what state things are in tomorrow morning, but man, I did a good job getting those wild sharp-clawed extremely sharp-toothed kittens into carriers to get them into the house: they did NOT want to go. Klondike? I just picked her up and scruffed her gently and carried her inside after the kittens were safely there.

I feel like the Kitty Rescue Squad. Tomorrow after taking Hannah to school, I'm going to stop at the vet and see when they can see the new batch. But first, I'll have to go to work. Work. Hmm. What concept is that? Oh, yeah! It's almost the end of the month. I need to pay rent on my office soon. Better earn some money. Speaking of massages... who out here has ever had massage on their knees? *looks around pointedly at all you Capricorns* It's about the best feeling ever. Just so you know: knees and scapulae. Try it.
