Even Good Dogs Deserve a Day Off

In lieu of vacation, which we just cannot afford right now, we've had a couple days of hanging about and taking it easy and doing nontraditional things. Today Mitch and I went to Salvador Molly's for some delicious Carib food, then headed downtown just to wander around and window shop. Hannah calls it 'ditching the kid,' but we call it 'ditching the parents.' We get to all drop the constraints of titles and just enjoy one another as human beings.

Tomorrow it's back to the usual, of course, but it's been nice. Mitch painted our bedroom... the color is called 'Wild Honey' and the room now feels like a cozy nest instead of a white... bedroom. Next project? Painting sff_corgi's room. We call it that, but really, it's the guest bedroom. C, I cannot promise scarlet or even scarlet-ish. But if you lived here... D'Argo would chase my cats, wouldn't he.

Anyway, I'm taking a night off from beta reading and from writing (HP fanfic fans, my first reader promises I'm doing James justice). I did enough stuff on my roleplay board and now it's time for a break and an early evening and plenty of sleep. Good-night, everyone.
